Pakistan Ranks Safer Than India & USA in 2025 Global Safety Index
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Pakistan has secured a higher spot than both India and the United States in Numbeo’s 2025 Global Safety Index, ranking 65th with a safety score of 56.3. India followed closely at 66th (55.7), while the United States lagged at 89th (50.8). The ranking underscores shifting global perceptions of safety, with Pakistan now positioned ahead of several major economies.

Numbeo’s Global Safety Index 2025: A Snapshot

Numbeo, a leading crowdsourced data platform, compiles its safety index based on user-contributed data, crime rates, and survey responses. The ranking provides insights into perceived security levels in different countries, making it a valuable resource for travelers and policymakers alike.

Top 10 Safest Countries in 2025

  1. Andorra – 84.7
  2. United Arab Emirates – 84.5
  3. Qatar – 84.2
  4. Taiwan – 82.9
  5. Oman – 81.7
  6. Isle of Man – 79.0
  7. Hong Kong (China) – 78.5
  8. Armenia – 77.9
  9. Singapore – 77.4
  10. Japan – 77.1

At the top of the list, Andorra emerged as the safest country, followed closely by the UAE, Qatar, Taiwan, and Oman, all recognized for their low crime rates and strong security measures.

Pakistan vs. India: A Narrow Gap in Safety

While Pakistan edged out India by just 0.6 points, the ranking highlights how perceptions of security in both countries remain relatively close. However, Pakistan’s improved position may signal a shift in how travelers and residents perceive safety in the country.

Major Economies Rank Lower Than Expected

Several global powerhouses fell below expectations in the rankings:

  • United States – 89th (50.8)
  • United Kingdom – 87th (51.2)
  • Australia – 82nd (52.4)
  • New Zealand – 86th (50.9)
  • France – 110th (44.6)

France, a traditionally secure European destination, ranked surprisingly low, with increasing crime concerns impacting its placement.

Pakistan in a Global Context

Pakistan’s position at 65th places it ahead of India, the US, and the UK, reinforcing the country’s improving security landscape. The ranking suggests a growing sense of safety among residents and visitors.

10 Least Safe Countries in 2025

  1. Venezuela – 19.3
  2. Papua New Guinea – 19.7
  3. Haiti – 21.1
  4. Afghanistan – 24.9
  5. South Africa – 25.3
  6. Honduras – 28.0
  7. Trinidad and Tobago – 29.1
  8. Syria – 31.9
  9. Jamaica – 32.6
  10. Peru – 32.9

Venezuela remains the least safe country, followed by Papua New Guinea, Haiti, and Afghanistan, reflecting ongoing instability and crime concerns.

What Does This Mean for Pakistan?

Pakistan’s rise in the safety index is a positive development, signaling an improvement in global perceptions of the country’s security. While challenges remain, a better ranking could attract more tourists, investors, and businesses, contributing to economic growth and a stronger global image.
