During an informal meeting held in Beijing on May 21, 2025, the foreign ministers of the three countries emphasized enhancing diplomatic ties and advancing joint initiatives under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Parallel to the trilateral meeting, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held a telephonic discussion to further strengthen bilateral ties. They expressed satisfaction over recent progress following Dar’s visit to Kabul on April 19, 2025. Both leaders committed to expanding cooperation in trade, economic development, people-to-people exchanges, and reactivating political consultation mechanisms.
