Azerbaijan will open its embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, as well as a representative office in the Palestinian city of Ramallah. Additionally, Azerbaijan will establish embassies in Kenya and Albania.
Yair Lapid, the prime minister of Israel, appreciated Azerbaijan’s decision. Lapid stated on Twitter that “The decision to open an embassy reflects the depth of the relations between the countries,” According to him, one of the largest Jewish populations in the Muslim world may be located in Azerbaijan, a country that is also a significant ally of Israel.
He continued “This move is the fruit of efforts by the Israeli government to build strong diplomatic bridges with the Muslim world,”
Israel has had diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan for 30 years, and since 1993, there has been an Israeli embassy in Baku.
