Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Pakistan, and he said “Pakistan has been contributing actively to the work of the UN especially in areas of peacekeeping, humanitarian action, climate change and international cooperation for sustainable development”
Julien Harneis underscored Pakistan’s firm commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN charter. The Prime Minister appreciated the UN Role but also expressed serious concerns on the devastation caused by recent floods and he mentioned provision of humanitarian relief a high priority for the government.
UN will continue supporting Pakistan in its ongoing endeavour for recovering from COVID-19 as well as with the current floods.
