French President Macron & Saudi Crown Prince Discusses Middle East & Ukraine
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

French President Emmanuel Macron recently spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focusing on key regional and global matters. The two leaders discussed pressing issues in the Middle East, as well as the ongoing war in Ukraine. Macron expressed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supporting peace in Gaza and other regions.

Supporting Peace in Gaza

Macron praised Saudi Arabia’s role in the Gaza conflict. He highlighted the nation’s commitment to the Arab League’s efforts to bring peace to the region. In his statement on social media platform X, the French president stressed that France fully supports these initiatives and will continue advocating for them at the European level. France aims to work alongside Saudi Arabia to encourage a peaceful resolution for Gaza.

Macron emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the crisis in Gaza. He conveyed his belief in the success of joint diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and foster long-term peace.

Lebanon: A Call for Complete Ceasefire

Another topic of discussion between Macron and Crown Prince Salman was the situation in Lebanon. Macron called for the full implementation of a ceasefire agreement, urging all parties to respect the terms for the sake of Lebanon’s stability. He also underlined the necessity of ensuring Israel’s complete withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

Macron’s appeal for a lasting peace in Lebanon included a reminder that only a full Israeli withdrawal could pave the way for long-term peace. He described the situation as fragile, stressing that international collaboration was crucial in maintaining peace.

Paris Conference on Syria: A Moment of Hope

The two leaders also reviewed the Paris Conference on Syria, which took place last week. Macron viewed the conference as a “moment of hope and commitment” for the country’s future. Both Macron and Prince Salman emphasized their shared commitment to supporting Syria’s transition toward peace and stability.

During their conversation, Macron reiterated France’s dedication to supporting Syria’s transitional authorities. He affirmed that France will stand by the Syrian people as they work to overcome challenges and rebuild their nation.

Syria’s Path Toward Stability

Macron’s message reflected France’s long-standing commitment to supporting Syria in its efforts toward a peaceful future. The French president conveyed optimism about Syria’s future, despite the years of conflict it has endured. Macron remains hopeful that with continued international support, Syria will find a way to achieve lasting peace.

The Ongoing War in Ukraine

In addition to Middle Eastern concerns, the French president and Crown Prince also discussed the war in Ukraine, which marks its third year later this month. Macron acknowledged the devastating toll of the war, speaking to Prince Salman about the role Saudi Arabia can play in supporting peace efforts. Macron emphasized the importance of European involvement in peace talks.

He pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the peace process could help create a stronger foundation for negotiations. Macron sees Europe at the center of the process, working alongside other international players to find a sustainable resolution to the conflict.

Macron’s Vision for International Peace

Throughout the conversation, Macron remained focused on his vision for a peaceful international order. He believes that diplomatic efforts, multilateral cooperation, and a commitment to human rights are essential to resolving global conflicts. His talks with Prince Salman reflect France’s continued efforts to be a leading voice in addressing crises across the world.

In conclusion, Macron’s conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Salman underscored the importance of international cooperation in resolving conflicts. The leaders agreed to continue working together on issues affecting the Middle East and Ukraine, focusing on peace, stability, and humanitarian support.
