The government has appointed Dr Asad Majeed as the new foreign secretary Pakistan

Asad Majeed Khan, a former ambassador to the United States and a leading figure in the PTI’s “foreign plot” allegation, has been named the new foreign secretary. Currently serving as Pakistan’s ambassador to the European Union is the previous representative to the US (EU). He has since received a notification for his appointment as foreign secretary from the establishment division, nevertheless. After incumbent Sohail Mehmood retired in September after attaining the age of superannuation, the job of foreign secretary became vacant. As the government was unable to agree on a new foreign secretary’s name, Jauhar Saleem, a grade 22 foreign service officer who is currently the special secretary for Europe, was given additional responsibility as the foreign secretary.
