WFP & IOM Pakistan launched ‘PSEA at the Frontline’, a global campaign to further empower frontline humanitarian workers and partners in the fight against sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) in Pakistan.
Chris Kaye, the Country Director of WFP Pakistan, said during the inauguration event: ‘The campaign is an important tool to help provide frontline humanitarian workers and partners with Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) knowledge to become strategic allies in its prevention.”
The “PSEA at the Frontline” initiative aims to provide frontline workers and partners with essential knowledge on protection against sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) through a specific bundle of simplified communication material in highly illustrated print, audio, and multimedia formats currently available in 22 languages. Available in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic is the briefing note. Moreover, the initiative, which was established by the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with Translators without Borders (TWB), focuses on frontline staff who play a crucial role in assistance programmes and regularly interact with beneficiaries and community populations, including Drivers & Security Guards, Enumerators, Translators, Aid Distributors, Financial service providers, and other contractors. The project, with the slogan “Together We Say No,” intends to assist them in recognising and reporting sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) as well as being key allies in its prevention.
The resources were created in response to comments from more than 3000 frontline relief workers in more than 80 countries. Additionally, the materials underwent extensive field testing in five nations: Bangladesh, Colombia, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Turkey
