The UNGA adopted Pakistan’s four annual disarmament-related resolutions, which aim to strengthen regional and international peace and security, showing Islamabad’s commitment to those objectives. The First Committee (Disarmament and International Security) of the 193-member Assembly recommended the resolutions, which were overwhelmingly approved by the committee’s members. Three of these resolutions address regional disarmament, regional and sub-regional conventional weapons control, and regional and sub-regional confidence-building measures (CBMs). The fourth Pakistani resolution demanded guarantees of global security for nations without nuclear weapons.
