The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Rahim Yar Khan today as part of his visit to Pakistan. Sheikh Mohamed was welcomed at the airport by Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, as well as several other ministries and high-ranking officials. During the discussion, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties between the UAE and Pakistan while also reviewing the historical ties between the two nations. This review fell under the umbrella of the strategic partnership between the UAE and Pakistan.
The two sides addressed numerous pathways for collaboration, particularly in the areas of the economy, commerce, and development, which are consistent with the sustainability goals of the two nations. They also discussed a variety of topics of shared concern and traded opinions on a number of local and global challenges.
For his part, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the pride his nation has in the long-standing ties between the UAE and Pakistan while thanking the UAE for continuing to support Pakistan in a variety of circumstances, particularly in the development sectors.
Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, all attended the meeting.
Marriyum Aurangzeb, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Tariq Fatemi, the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, and other officials were present on the Pakistani side.
