USAID donates $7.5 million worth of medical oxygen supplies to the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination. The support will also provide training to 163 hospitals throughout Pakistan to increase their capability to treat patients suffering from severe COVID-19 and other lung conditions.
The Ministry of Health requested thousands of necessary items and pieces of equipment for oxygen therapy, which the U.S. government donation provides. The U.S. government will also strengthen Pakistan’s medical oxygen systems and develop a web-based information system that allows real-time monitoring of patient oxygen levels. Technical assistance will also be provided to train public-sector personnel working in intensive care units on how to use the equipment. however, The US government has given Pakistan approximately 79 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including 16 million paediatric doses, one million COVID-19 fast diagnostic tests, crucial health supplies, and health worker training. The more than $80 million that the US government has donated to aid the people of Pakistan in their struggle against, The donation was received by the Federal Health Minister, Mr Abdul Qadir Patel, at a ceremony in Islamabad.
