Pakistan granted visas to 100 Indian pilgrims on Monday so that they may attend the 314th-anniversary celebrations of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib in Sindh province. Visitors can see Shadani Darbar at Hayat Pitafi from November 22 to December 3
In a statement, the Pakistan High Commission stated that the action “reflected Pakistan’s respect for sacred sites of all religions and efforts for encouraging interfaith tolerance.”
Every year, thousands of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India travel to Pakistan to observe religious festivals and occasions, as per the India-Pakistan Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974.
The government of Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate visits to religious places are consistent with the granting of pilgrimage permits to Hindu and Sikh pilgrims. It also reflects Pakistan’s respect for all religious sites and initiatives to enhance interfaith cooperation, according to the statement.
