Ms. Ylva Johansson traveled to Pakistan to meet with officials, law enforcement officials, and representatives of the UN to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues relating to migration and security.
She claims that from a regional perspective as well as in all other migration-related sectors, the EU and Pakistan want to improve their collaboration.
The Pakistani government, which generously hosted three million Afghans, including 1.3 million refugees, was honored by Ms. Johansson. She claimed that the recent show of continental cooperation by the European Union in hosting more than 4 million Ukrainian refugees over the course of the current year was a result of this.
The European Commissioner discussed potential safe and legal migration routes to Europe with federal ministers and secretaries of the interior, foreign affairs, human resource development, and education and professional training.
