In a significant diplomatic development, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council in Doha on Sunday. The meeting marked a milestone in fostering cooperation between the two nations and showcased the commitment to strengthening ties at various levels.

The leaders commended the positive cooperation and coordination demonstrated by the subcommittees and working groups of the council’s general secretariat in both Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The Executive Committee meeting provided a platform for these subcommittees to present their progress on preparatory work and recent outcomes achieved. This collaborative effort has laid the groundwork for the forthcoming meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.

During the meeting, the working groups of the council’s general secretariat presented outcomes encompassing targets, initiatives, and memoranda of understanding. These outcomes are poised to be signed during the upcoming Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council meeting, signifying a tangible step forward in bilateral relations. The shared commitment to fostering cooperation was evident in the comprehensive progress reported by the subcommittees and their respective working groups.

Both Prince Faisal and Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the paramount importance of sustained coordination to fulfill the aspirations of their leaderships and advance the shared interests of the peoples of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
