Foreign leaders express condolences over the passing of China’s former leader Jiang Zemin. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Jiang made an invaluable contribution to developing Russian-Chinese relations. Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith said Jiang played a guiding role in the development of Laos-China relations. Singaporean President Halimah Yacob said Jiang was a distinguished statesman who led China in a period of rapid growth and development. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Jiang had selflessly served in the name of the prosperity of China and enhanced his country’s authority in the international community.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Jiang made a great contribution to the revival of the great Chinese nation, which allowed China to become a powerful and economically prosperous state. Mahmoud Abbas said that he and the Palestinian people will always remember the outstanding leader.
