The Russian military issued a pop song on Saturday that fantasises about using its nuclear weapons to destroy NATO and the US. The Sarmat ICBM affectionately referred to as “Sarmatushka” in the title, is honoured in the song and music video.
It is just the most recent in a string of celebrations of its WMD that have grown in prominence as Russia struggled with its invasion of Ukraine by land. The song’s music video was released by ParkPatriot.media, a division of the Russian defence ministry that specialises in propaganda.
