Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 433
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In the previous five months of warfare, the White House has calculated that 20,000 Russian soldiers have perished.

According to the Russian defence ministry, missile attacks were launched overnight against Ukrainian military facilities, including arsenals and ammo manufacturers.

According to the military, of the 18 missiles launched across Kyiv and Dnipro in the early hours of Monday, 15 were shot down by the Ukrainian air force.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that 40 people were hurt and two individuals died as a result of missile assaults on the eastern city of Pavlohrad. The Chernihiv region, close to the Russian border, was hit by a bomb, the president stated, killing a 14-year-old kid beside his school.

Bridget Brink, the US ambassador in Kiev, has denounced Russia’s missile attacks.

In order to support his troops fighting in Bakhmut, Ukraine, the head of the Wagner Group has urged Russia’s military ministry to send more ammunition to that country. Yevgeny Prigozhin claimed in a video that he needed at least 300 tonnes of artillery munitions every day to capture the city.

The situation in Bakhmut is still described as “difficult” by General Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander of Ukraine’s ground forces, although soldiers have initiated a counterattack in some areas of the destroyed city.

In order to put an end to the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, Pope Francis has revealed that the Vatican is engaged in a covert peace mission.

Zelenskyy met with Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, on enhanced sanctions and defence collaboration.

Chris Hipkins, the prime minister of New Zealand, has been hailed by Zelenskyy for helping to train the Ukrainian military.

Last month, Ukraine exported 3.62 million tonnes of grain, up from 923,000 tonnes in April 2022, when all of the nation’s Black Sea ports were closed due to Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Following the International Judo Federation’s decision to readmit Russians and Belarusians as neutrals, Ukrainian athletes have said they would not compete in this month’s World Judo Championships in Qatar.
