Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived Qatar on the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with prominent Qatari and Pakistani business leaders at the Pakistan-Qatar Trade and Investment Roundtable 2022 in Doha. Organized by the Qatar Financial Centre, Pakistan Business Council Qatar and the Embassy of Pakistan in Doha jointly.
They will also exchange views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest. The prime minister will also engage with leading Qatari and Pakistani business leaders, investors and entrepreneurs.
Today he visited Stadium 974 in Doha, where he would be briefed on the extensive preparations undertaken by Qatari government to host the FIFA World Cup.
The prime minister pointed out that it was important to understand the backdrop of this visit. “The world’s economy, which was hit by the coronavirus pandemic, is now recovering, while geo-political tensions have affected the chain of demand and supply,” he said, adding, “Common challenges demand that both the countries explore new avenues of cooperation.”
