Islamabad, 3 August 2022 (TDI): Wouter Plomp, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan, called on Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands appreciated the soft launch of the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference (PIMEC).

Maritime Ministry, in a tweet, shared that Netherlands Ambassador stated, “Ministry of Maritime Affairs is the patron while Pakistan Navy is the executor of the idea & it’ll open a great opportunity for the Dutch investors & exhibitors as well.”

About PIMEC

The soft launch of PIMEC was held on 26th July in Islamabad. PIMEC is scheduled to be held from 10-12 February 2023 at the Karachi expo center. It will facilitate public and private partnerships with new ways for cooperation and investment with the international maritime industry.

The three-day event will provide a perfect platform for Business-to-Business (B2B) interactions and cooperation for the participants from Pakistan and abroad.

Previous Meetings

Recently, the Netherlands Ambassador met with Qamar Javaid Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff. He paid a farewell call to COAS. The COAS appreciated the Ambassador’s services and contributions to fostering strong relations between Pakistan and Netherlands.

Moreover, in February 2022, the 9th Round of The Netherlands- Pakistan Bilateral Political Consultations was held in Islamabad.

Both the parties exchanged views on regional issues. They reviewed bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, political, climate change, culture, education, etc.

Furthermore, they also agreed to celebrate 75 years of establishment of Pak-Netherlands diplomatic ties this year in a befitting manner.
