The deteriorating human rights situation in Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir has drawn strong criticism from Pakistan. Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch responded to a question at her weekly news briefing on Thursday in Islamabad by saying that the situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir has not improved because the region is still under military blockade and Indian tyranny there persists unabatedly. She claimed that last week, the Indian occupation forces continued their campaign of extrajudicial killings by carrying out fictitious encounters in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir Islamabad and Shopian districts that resulted in the deaths of two Kashmiri youngsters. She claimed that when innocent children are in their care, Indian occupying soldiers also commit murder.
The spokesperson expressed our serious concern for the welfare of political prisoners in Kashmir, especially leaders of the APHC and human rights advocates. Even so, she stated that “India must end its gross and systematic violations of human rights in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, revoke its illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, and free all political prisoners including the true Kashmiri leaders”
