Derek Chollet, a counsellor with the US Department of State, was welcomed by Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wednesday.
The Foreign Secretary welcomed Counselor Chollet and said that the regular visits between the two countries were evidence of the relationship’s upward trend.
The next Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council meeting in Washington, D.C.. As well as the second Mid-level Defence Dialogue, both received positive feedback from the foreign secretary. Via the institutionalised conversations in trade and investment, energy, security, climate change, and health.
He stressed the value of long-term cooperation. He emphasised the need for more collaboration in the fields of agriculture, education, IT, and science and technology.
The commitment of the United States to strengthening the bilateral relationship was reiterated by Counselor Chollet. He pledged American support and sympathy with Pakistan and its people as they recover from the floods of 2022.
The Foreign Secretary thanked the Counselor for American assistance and expressed his desire to continue participating. In the long-term efforts at recovery and rehabilitation.
