Mr. Hassan Kazemi Ghomi, the Special Representative for Afghanistan to the President of Iran, met with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today.
The Afghan government’s commitment to peace, stability, prosperity, and connectivity was reiterated by the foreign minister of Pakistan. He emphasized the significance of strong coordination between Pakistan and Iran on Afghanistan-related issues, such as refugee management, regional security, and institutional frameworks.
The Special Representative praised the assistance that Afghan government has received humanitarian from Pakistan, including recent attempts to provide aid following the terrible earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan, according to the foreign minister. He also emphasized how crucial it is to maintain positive dialogue and active cooperation with the interim Afghan government in order to advance the goal of long-term stability and security in the area.
Regarding bilateral ties, the Foreign Minister highlighted Pakistan’s strong desire to continue fostering ties with Iran, which are firmly anchored in shared religious beliefs, historical links, and cultural affinity. In order to develop economic and commercial relations, energy cooperation, regional security, and connectivity, he emphasized the value of regular contacts.
