Indonesia and Pakistan have intensified their calls for the international community to intervene immediately in Gaza, as Israel’s military campaign continues to devastate the Palestinian population. In parallel, both Muslim-majority nations have reaffirmed their unwavering support for Palestinian independence and condemned what they describe as war crimes and genocide by Israel.
Indonesia Urges Diplomatic and Military Response to Gaza Crisis
At a high-level gathering of religious leaders, academics, and humanitarian organizations held at the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) headquarters, a joint statement was issued endorsing comprehensive resistance against Israeli aggression.
The statement supported the International Union of Muslim Scholars’ fatwa, which calls for resistance on all fronts—diplomatic, political, economic, and humanitarian. It also demanded that the Indonesian government intensify peace efforts, including:
-
Diplomatic and military measures to stop Israeli attacks
-
Reopening the Rafah crossing for urgent humanitarian aid
-
Hosting an international conference on Palestinian liberation
-
Exploring the medical evacuation of wounded Gazans to Indonesia
Additionally, Indonesian leaders rejected the U.S. proposal to relocate Gaza’s residents, labeling it a “gross violation of human rights and international law.”
Pakistan Passes Unanimous Parliamentary Resolution in Support of Gaza
Meanwhile, in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Parliament passed a unanimous resolution condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza and reaffirming Pakistan’s historic stance of non-recognition of Israel. Lawmakers from across the political spectrum—including government and opposition parties such as PTI—stood united in expressing solidarity with Palestine.
The resolution urged:
-
An immediate UN-led ceasefire
-
Reconstruction of Gaza with international support
-
Full UN membership for Palestine
-
Accountability for Israeli war crimes
-
An end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories
Federal ministers also praised Al Jazeera for its on-ground reporting and criticized Israel’s targeting of journalists and media infrastructure.
“This is a failure of the international community,” the resolution declared, demanding that the UN and global powers intervene to stop the bloodshed.
A United Voice from the Muslim World
Both Indonesia and Pakistan have consistently supported Palestinian liberation efforts, but their latest calls reflect growing frustration with global inaction. As civilian casualties in Gaza mount, these two major Muslim nations are stepping up pressure for concrete international measures, not just statements of concern.
The unity of their voices adds weight to the demand for justice, peace, and recognition of Palestinian rights, especially at a time when global institutions are seen as falling short.
