The delegation from the massive search engine Google arrived in Pakistan on Monday to meet with Ameenul Haque, the minister of information technology and telecommunications. In order to discuss the start of its activities in Pakistan, the group will also meet with the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Minister of Federal Law.
The delegation will talk about opening a liaison office in Pakistan and potential investment prospects, according to the IT ministry. “The Google team will discuss opening a specific office in the nation.” The IT minister continued, “By opening the office, they will learn about Pakistani culture and traditions.
The minister emphasised how websites like Google and Facebook profit from Pakistan to the tune of hundreds of millions of rupees. We can send any problems to this office and discuss them, they should have an office in Pakistan, and hire young individuals. Furthermore, we can order the removal of material from these platforms that is offensive to the nation, the faith, or the culture.
Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. has been incorporated under Section 435 of the Companies Act 2017 to establish a liaison office in Pakistan.
