Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine Unite to End Israeli Occupation: A Push for Lasting Peace
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In a resounding display of unity and determination, the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine convened on Monday to underscore the imperative of bringing an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands. A joint statement released by the Egyptian Presidency declared that the leaders are resolutely committed to revitalizing peace and rejuvenating the Palestinian cause. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas gathered for a momentous tripartite conference in Egypt’s coastal city of New Alamein, where they meticulously discussed the latest strides in the ongoing Palestinian struggle.

Rallying for Palestinian Rights

In a pivotal show of solidarity, the leaders unanimously highlighted the urgency of securing the full spectrum of legitimate rights for the Palestinian people. Central to this mission is the establishment of an independent and sovereign state on the pre-1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its rightful capital. Additionally, they advocated for a definitive resolution to the longstanding issue of Palestinian refugees, duly aligned with internationally sanctioned resolutions. Emphasizing the quintessence of the two-state solution, grounded in internationally recognized references, the leaders underscored their unwavering commitment to its realization.

Israel’s Obligations Under Scrutiny

With unwavering resolve, the Arab leaders called upon Israel to diligently honor its obligations and commitments in full consonance with international law, prevailing humanitarian norms, and past international accords. The outcomes of the al-Aqaba meeting, a crucial juncture in regional diplomacy, were reaffirmed as an imperative compass guiding this endeavor. The leaders adamantly urged Israel to immediately cease its aggressions against Palestinians and cease its incursions into West Bank territories, while simultaneously urging the dismantling of the Gaza Strip blockade.

Crafting a Path to Lasting Peace

Unwavering in their quest for sustainable peace, the leaders underscored their intent to sustain efforts alongside key international stakeholders. The pivotal goal remains the revival of a sincere peace process, firmly rooted in international legal frameworks and peace references. Committed to a clearly outlined mechanism and a stringent timetable, the leaders project their determination to reshape the trajectory of the conflict and usher in a brighter era of harmony.

As the resounding echoes of unity reverberate through the halls of diplomacy, the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine have etched an indelible mark on the canvas of history. In their unwavering pursuit of a world where peace prevails, they have set in motion a cascade of aspirations, aligning themselves with international law and justice, and holding steadfast to the promise of a better future for all parties involved.
