Widespread protests have recently transpired across Israel, as demonstrators advocate for the repatriation of Israeli captives currently held in Gaza, the dissolution of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government, and a resolution to the conflict in Gaza.
In Tel Aviv’s “Hostage Square,” on Saturday, a substantial gathering of several thousand supporters, friends, and families of the captives, taken by Hamas on October 7, convened. Notably, the turnout exceeded that of previous weeks, when only a few dozen to a few hundred individuals assembled.
During the demonstration, participants expressed their discontent with the government, chanting “Bushah bushah, bushah,” translating to “shame, shame, shame.” Some protestors directed blame at Prime Minister Netanyahu and other officials for the events of October 7, reflecting the intensity of public anger. In Jerusalem, another gathering occurred in front of Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s residence, where demonstrators urged the return of over 100 captives still held in Gaza.
