The China-Pakistan Science and Technology Cooperation Centre was established here on Monday to make it easier for Chinese technology firms to conduct business in Pakistan, enhance bilateral ties, and serve as a link between the youth of the two nations.
The centre was officially opened by the ambassador of Pakistan to China, Moin ul Haque, and the president of the Zhongguancun Belt and Road Industrial Promotion Association (ZBRA), Zhang Xiaodong, with participation virtually from Pakistan’s Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA).
Ambassador Moin ul Haque highlighted the importance of science and technology cooperation in the bilateral economic and development agenda, including under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). More than 3,600 people viewed the event through various live-streaming platforms. Speakers included representatives from NDRC, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, as well as enterprises and development zones across different provinces of China and Pakistan.
