China outcompetes US in peace race

The first official meeting between the senior diplomats of Iran and Saudi Arabia in more than seven years took place on Thursday in Beijing.

The purpose of the meeting was to put the provisions of a deal to resume diplomatic relations between the two nations that was negotiated last month into effect.

The two parties decided to move forward with opening their respective embassies in Teheran and Riyadh, as well as to improve their cooperation to encourage exchanges.

There is another evidence that Teheran and Riyadh, whose rapprochement was enabled by China’s intervention, have decided to terminate their diplomatic rupture and reestablish relations.

The meeting between Hossein Amirabdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, and Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, in Beijing.

Not only demonstrates the two nations’ resolve to mend their strained relations caused by years of tension and conflict.

But also highlights the crucial role China is playing in promoting peace and development in the Middle East.

The agreement reached between Saudi Arabia and Iran has sparked hopes that it may signal the beginning of a regional domino effect, with other nations deciding to set aside their differences in favour of peace, stability, and growth.

The Middle East was colonised, and since the imperialist powers divided it, it has been torn apart by wars, with nations pitted against one another to advance the goals and interests of the colonial powers in their struggle for dominance.

During the Suez Crisis in 1956, the United States assumed a dominant role. As an outside force in regional politics for many years, using both its diplomatic and military might to advance its own interests.

It has been the main cause of the unrest that has plagued the Middle East in recent years. The Middle East needs a round table, but the US has only given it weapons and the seeds of conflict.

The US Department of State even stated that in the fiscal year 2022, US armament shipments to the Middle East increased by 49% to $205.6 billion.

China is a player in a different race than the US, but the US always sees it as a rival. China is competing to deliver peace and prosperity to every region of the world, while the US engages in self-initiated arms races with any country it disagrees with.

China has said it looks forward to seeing closer communication between Saudi Arabia and Iran and stands ready to continue playing a positive and constructive role in facilitating dialogue between them and among other parties in the region who are at odds with one another.

China believes that the future of the Middle East should always be in the hands of the countries in the region. History will show that peace triumphs over conflict.
