In a resolute move to foster stronger ties and enhance regional connectivity, Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China’s commitment to working hand in hand with Pakistan to further develop the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Addressing the Decade of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor celebration event in Islamabad, President Xi declared that CPEC will become an exemplary project of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, fostering sustainable and livelihood-enhancing outcomes. With an unwavering vision, the two nations are poised to strengthen their all-weather friendship and elevate their strategic cooperative partnership to new heights, transcending the boundaries of time and geopolitical challenges.

CPEC: A Pioneer of Belt and Road Cooperation

Since its inception in 2013, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has emerged as a pioneering project of the Belt and Road Initiative. Built on the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, CPEC has already yielded a plethora of early harvests. This ambitious venture has been a catalyst in propelling Pakistan’s economic and social development forward, instilling fresh momentum in the region’s connectivity and integration. President Xi’s commendation of CPEC’s success underscores the resilience and depth of the friendship between China and Pakistan, forming the bedrock of a shared future in the new era.

Sustaining and Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

President Xi Jinping emphasized that, regardless of the shifting international landscape, China remains steadfastly committed to standing by Pakistan’s side. Both nations are resolute in their shared vision to improve overall planning and expand cooperation. Through coordinated development and security efforts, the two countries will fortify their ironclad friendship and collaborate on projects of higher standards, broader scope, and greater depth. This unified approach will further cement the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, bolstering peace and prosperity not only within China and Pakistan but also across the broader region.

A Journey Towards High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation

Looking ahead, President Xi asserted that China and Pakistan will continue forging ahead in solidarity, pursuing the joint goal of elevating CPEC into an exemplary project of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. This shared ambition is set to provide sustainable outcomes and uplift livelihoods, addressing socio-economic challenges with pragmatic solutions. Through this ambitious venture, both nations aim to exemplify the spirit of extensive cooperation and promote regional connectivity, fostering an environment of mutual understanding and prosperity.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China and Pakistan will continue to work together to enhance overall planning and cooperation. He assured Pakistan of China’s unwavering support, regardless of changes in the international landscape. The two nations will strive to deepen their collaboration, forge ironclad friendship, and achieve higher standards of cooperation. The ultimate objective is to elevate the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership to new heights and contribute to peace and prosperity in both countries and the broader region.
