The Canadian High Commission in Pakistan has now announced the annual call for proposals for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
The programme largely focuses on projects developed and organised by Pakistani regional partners. Projects are chosen and approved by the relevant Canadian embassy or high commission.
This typically includes gender parity and the empowerment of women and girls.
A programme that encourages gender equality by including women and girls in open forums and unconventional settings. One example is encouraging girls to participate in sports.
Five elements of women’s empowerment have been incorporated into Pakistan Vision 2025’s objectives. Including initiatives to advance women’s self-worth, the freedom to make their own decisions. Access to opportunities and resources, and the authority to manage their lives both inside and outside of Pakistan.

To ensure that the various intersecting concerns regarding gender equality and empowerment are addressed. Through important interventions, policy, and advocacy, a wide variety of areas must be covered.
This entails working with young people and communities to help girls understand their rights. Collaborating with policymakers to develop and put into effect laws that react to and defend the rights of women and girls.
