The 2023 Boao New Power System International Forum took place in Boao, Hainan, China’s southernmost province, on March 22 and 23.
The summit’s shared purpose was to advance the achievement of the dual carbon objectives of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality.
The Boao New Power System Association planned the forum, which was hosted by China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. A total of 300 people, including officials from the National Energy Administration.
And the Hainan Provincial Government, academics, university experts, and representatives from domestic. The international energy and power organisations, Internet companies, and other related industries, attended the conference.
Hainan has recently supported the creation of a new kind of power system while expediting. The establishment of a national ecological civilization demonstration zone and a clean energy island.
The province finished building its intelligent grid in 2021, which covered power generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption.
The Hainan Boao New Power System Exhibition and Trade Center’s examples attracted a lot of interest.
One of these was the “high-frequency, multi-dimensional, high-precision” carbon emission statistics, accounting, and monitoring system known as the Hainan Climate Change Smart Management Platform.
Furthermore, Hainan Province and China Southern Power Grid are investigating the “one network” operation model for new energy vehicle charging and battery swapping throughout the island.
To date, a charging service operations platform, a unified WeChat mini-program, and a mobile app have been developed, offering NEV consumers and suppliers of NEV battery charging/swapping facilities throughout the province simple, seamless services.
More than 100 million kilowatts of new energy installations will be supported by China Southern Power Grid by 2030. A new power system will essentially be established, with new energy being the largest installed source of power generation.
At the end of June of this year, the company also intends to begin building Hainan’s 500 kV digital power infrastructure, with an estimated investment of RMB5.2 billion. After completion, China will attain full coverage of a 500 kV provincial digital power grid.
