Chairperson of National Comission of Status of Women (NCSW) Pakistan, has started advocacy campaign to drive awareness of the digital divide and the collective response needed to address the issue. She explained that how girls and women often have less access to technology and the internet compared to boys and men particularly in developing countries like Pakistan.
This year Priority theme of 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, is Innovation and technological change and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. Especially, since after the pandemic, when the access became more difficult, she added that financial resources and technical assistance needs to be mobilized to create inclusive learning environments for women and girls who have missed out on education due to climate change and conflicts.
