Today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif co-hosted the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan in Geneva with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
According to the foreign ministry, the Conference will serve as a platform to rally international support for the people and government of Pakistan to rebuild better and more resiliently in the aftermath of the recent devastating floods, as the country moves from the rescue-and-relief phase to the monumental task of recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.
At the Conference, Pakistan will present its contribution to Pakistan’s reconstruction and rehabilitation, as well as seek international support and long-term partnerships for its implementation. It outlines a prioritised and sequential Plan that has been defined at the federal and provincial levels, as well as the financial mechanism and institutional arrangements for its implementation.
The Conference aims to marshal international support for the people and Government of Pakistan to build back better in a resilient manner after the recent devastating floods. Pakistan will present its contribution to its reconstruction and rehabilitation plan, and seek international support and partnerships for its implementation.
