Reducing population growth is key to fight climate change

Even though Pakistan generates less than 1% of the world’s CO2 emissions, the country has experienced significant economic and human losses as a result of climate-related calamities. On November 15, the world’s population surpassed 8 billion, and 2022 ranked as the sixth-warmest year on record. Government representatives, academics, planners, policymakers, donors, members of civil society, and development partners all attended the event. In order to achieve a balance between population and resources, he emphasised the importance of women’s empowerment and the inclusion of population welfare in the curriculum. Participants talked about using family planning as a practical strategy for resilience and adaptation to climate change. He recommended setting a suitable percentage of NFC prizes for several metrics, including population welfare.
