Pakistan’s goods and services exports with Italy increased by 104.10 per cent during the first four months of the current fiscal year (2022-23) compared to the same period last year. The trade surplus during the evaluated months was $198.550 million, up 10.65 percent from $97.276 million the previous year. According to SBP data, the total amount of exports to Italy from July through October this year was $401.020 million, up from $327.871 million during the same period the previous year. This represents a growth of 22.31 percent. During October 2022, exports to Italy climbed by 23.63 percent year over year, from US$75.095 million to US$92.842 million.
According to SBP statistics showed that exports to Italy decreased by 16.38 percent month over month in October 2022 compared to exports of US$ 111.038 million in September 2022. According to SBP data, Pakistan’s exports to all nations increased overall by 2.60 percent in just four months, from US $9576.107 million to US $9825.020 million. Contrarily, imports from Italy during the reviewed months were US $202.470 million, down from US $230.595 million during the same period last year, representing a reduction of 12.19 percent (2022-23).
In addition, year-over-year imports from Italy dropped by 33.70 per cent in October 2022, from US $48.803 million to US $32.353 million. Compared to the import of US $53.621 million in September 2022, the imports from Italy declined by 39.66% in October 2022, according to SBP statistics. Over all, imports declined by 11.66 percent over the studied period, dropping from US $23324.945 million to US $20617.080 million.
