The UN Climate Change Conference COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh is “the world’s first opportunity in the era of implementation of the Paris Agreement to demonstrate progress,” according to Simon Stiell.
He reiterated, “Although I may be new to this role, I am most definitely not new to these conversations or the significant problems that relate to climate change.”
Furthermore he stated, “I’ve heard the word challenge in reference to climate change a lot as a former businessman and environment minister from a small island nation.”
He said that in this new era of implementation, COP27 is our first chance to show that we are making progress and heading in the right direction.
