The Planning Commission has started a thorough investigation into the creation of Pakistan’s future development scenario, titled “Pakistan Outlook 2035.”
According to a news release, the effort will evaluate long-term issues in light of the current economic crisis and shifting global dynamics in significant economic sectors and suggest policy options for decision-makers for the quick socioeconomic development of the nation.
The study will be released at the beginning of 2023, according to Minister of Planning and Development Professor Ahsan Iqbal, who also said that it will serve as a precursor to the creation of Pakistan’s Vision 2035 and Vision 2047.
He stressed the need for significant structural reforms in Pakistan’s economy and the creation of a new export-led growth paradigm. Only by adhering to a consistent policy framework for at least ten years could this be accomplished. The country was well on its way to achieving the goal of entering the top 25 economies in the world by 2025, as established in Pakistan’s Vision 2025, which was unveiled in 2014 under the PMLN government, but the change of government in 2018 created a significant detour.
