Ms. Aida Girma is in charge of UNICEF’s multi-sectoral programs in polio eradication, water and sanitation, health, nutrition, and education. She praises UNICEF’s notable support in the context of raising social indices for Pakistan’s women and children.
She stated that the Government of Pakistan and UNICEF share the same aims for eradicating polio, lowering child mortality, and tackling related societal challenges.
With almost 30 years of experience, Aida Girma specializes in complicated development and humanitarian assistance programs and takes that experience with her.
Ms. Girma-Melaku praised the government for its initiatives and accomplishments in lowering maternal and infant mortality so far. She stressed the need to enhance access to basic health services and strengthen routine immunization, particularly for underserved groups in remote locations.
