Pakistan has experienced heavy monsoon rains and flooding since mid-June, causing the deaths of more than 1,300 people and affecting the lives of 33 million across the country.
Hart Sajjan Canada’s Minister of International Development has launched a matching fund of up to $3M in partnership with hum-coalition to support members by providing life-saving services to those in dire need.
“No country can prepare for a climate emergency of this scale. People need help now, that’s why on top of the $5 million, today we announced $25 million and a $3 million matching fund—for immediate relief, and to support rebuilding & recovery for the people of Pakistan.” said Hart Sajjan Canada’s Minister of International Development.
