Arab Parliament Denounces Israel’s Construction of Watchtower on Al-Aqsa’s Western Wall
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In a recent development that has sparked outrage across the Arab world, the Cairo-based Arab Parliament has vehemently condemned Israel’s construction of a watchtower on the western wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City. This move, coupled with the installation of surveillance cameras by Israeli authorities, has been denounced as a brazen provocation aimed at undermining the sanctity of one of Islam’s holiest sites.

The Arab Parliament’s condemnation underscores the gravity of the situation, as it holds Israel directly responsible for escalating tensions and inciting further unrest in the region. By exceeding all limits of provocation, Israeli authorities have not only violated international law but also disregarded the sentiments of Muslims worldwide.

At the heart of the issue lies a concerted effort by the Israeli occupation to alter the historical, political, demographic, and legal reality of Jerusalem, a city revered by Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike. This flagrant disregard for the rights of the Palestinian people and their cultural heritage represents a clear violation of numerous UN and UNESCO resolutions.

The construction of the watchtower and the installation of surveillance cameras serve as a stark reminder of Israel’s persistent aggression against the Palestinian people. The Arab Parliament has called for urgent international intervention to put an end to these violations and to safeguard the rights of Palestinians, who continue to face systematic oppression and displacement.

Furthermore, the Arab Parliament has denounced the ongoing ethnic cleansing campaign orchestrated by the Israeli occupation forces. The forced displacement of Palestinians from their homes and the erasure of their identity represent a grave violation of human rights and must be met with decisive action from the international community.

In response to these developments, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry has condemned Israel’s actions, highlighting the daily incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and the systematic attempts to alter the historical and legal reality of Jerusalem. Such actions only serve to exacerbate tensions and undermine the prospects for peace in the region.

As the situation continues to escalate, it is imperative for the international community to uphold the principles of justice, equality, and respect for human rights. The Arab Parliament’s condemnation sends a clear message that the Palestinian cause remains a central issue for the Arab world, and that Israel’s violations will not go unnoticed or unchallenged.

The construction of a watchtower on the western wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque represents a flagrant violation of international law and an affront to the religious and cultural heritage of Muslims worldwide. It is incumbent upon the international community to take decisive action to hold Israel accountable and to ensure the protection of the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.
