The event occurred during a meeting in Istanbul between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Yalcin Yuksel, the head of the ECO Trade and Development Bank. however, According to Yuksel, the financial package will include funding for gasoline imports as well as flood relief measures. After disbursing this agreed sum, he said that Pakistan’s total financial assistance since the bank’s founding would reach just over $1 billion.
PM Shehbaz Sharif urged Turkish businesses to invest in Pakistan, stressing that bilateral commerce and business should represent the two countries’ endless potential for cooperation. He said that his government would no longer put up with any obstacles that prevented foreign investors, including the Turkish brothers, from investing. According to the prime minister, his administration and the people of Pakistan, who had benefited from Turkish investment and assistance, could not accept such sluggishness and red tape. The yearly trade between Pakistan and Turkey was estimated to be approximately $250 billion, with bilateral trade often ranging from around 1.5 billion dollars.
