Pakistan and China have emphasized their commitment to bolstering their cooperation for the benefit of both nations. During a delegation-level meeting between caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of People on the sidelines of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum, both leaders articulated their dedication to this shared future. President Xi expressed China’s readiness to deepen its friendship with Pakistan and its unwavering commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional peace. Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar, in turn, declared Pakistan’s unshakable trust in China and pledged to protect the bilateral strategic partnership. This report delves into the reaffirmation of their friendship, the determination to preserve their strategic ties, and the focus on fostering Chinese investment in Pakistan.

Solidifying Bonds of Friendship

The meeting between Prime Minister Kakar and President Xi served as a platform for the two nations to reiterate the profound friendship that has endured for decades. President Xi conveyed China’s willingness to carry forward this traditional friendship, emphasizing the importance of deepening the bilateral partnership with Pakistan. The Chinese President’s commitment extended beyond words, as he assured Pakistan of China’s dedication to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional stability. This reaffirmation signifies the solid foundation upon which the two nations continue to build their relationship, recognizing the mutual benefits it brings.

Caretaker Prime Minister’s Pledge to Protect Strategic Partnership

Prime Minister Kakar, in his opening remarks, characterized the bilateral partnership between Pakistan and China as “made in heaven.” He emphasized that Pakistan places immense trust in China and will not permit anything to compromise the strategic ties between the two countries. Furthermore, he asserted Pakistan’s unwavering support for the ‘One-China Policy,’ affirming that the nation’s commitment to China remains unwavering. The Prime Minister highlighted President Xi’s proposals put forth at the forum, emphasizing that they serve as a roadmap not only for physical connectivity but also as a stabilizing force in the international order. He commended the Belt and Road Initiative as a pragmatic response to global challenges, reinforcing its significance on the global stage.

Encouraging Chinese Investment in Pakistan

Prime Minister Kakar extended his efforts to promote the multi-faceted Pakistan-China relationship, emphasizing the importance of regional connectivity and economic development. He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to making Gwadar a connectivity hub and fostering the socio-economic development of the nation. China’s corporate executives were urged to explore the vast investment potential in Pakistan, particularly in sectors such as ICT, agriculture, renewable energy, textiles, the digital economy, mining, and minerals. The establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, designed as a one-window platform to facilitate foreign investment, exemplifies Pakistan’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for investors.

In conclusion, the reaffirmation of Pakistan and China’s strong partnership for mutual benefit not only underscores the enduring bonds of friendship between the two nations but also highlights their commitment to strengthening these ties. As Pakistan encourages Chinese investment and the two countries continue to deepen their cooperation, their shared future remains a beacon of hope and progress in an ever-evolving global landscape.
