Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese president, met with Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee and Cuban president.
Since the 20th CPC National Congress, which was held last month, Diaz-Canel is the first head of state from the Latin American and Caribbean region to be received in China, according to Xi, which amply reflects the special friendship between the two nations and parties.
Xi stated that “The People’s Republic of China first established diplomatic ties with a nation in the Western Hemisphere, Cuba. Our relationships have emerged as a shining example of solidarity and collaboration between communist nations as well as sincere reciprocal help between developing nations “
