China refutes European politicians’ erroneous remarks on Taiwan question

According to Chinese scholars, the Taiwan issue is a domestic matter for China and has no bearing on China and Europe’s fundamental interests.

Facts demonstrate that the US is the main cause of harm to Europe, and under Washington’s pressure, Europe may become more split and err on the side of true independence.

Examples include the Russia-Ukraine war, the Nord Stream explosions, and the most recent news that Washington has been eavesdropping on its friends.

The Chinese embassies in Poland and Belgium on Friday expressed their vehement opposition to the false statements made by Polish and Belgian politicians on the Taiwan issue.

Through a spokesperson’s statements that were posted on their websites, both emphasising that the one-China principle is the political cornerstone of the two countries’ relations.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Belgium stressed that the PLA’s drills around the Taiwan island are a serious warning against the provocations of the secessionists and external forces.

As well as a necessary action to protect China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

She added that the separatist activities of “Taiwan independence” forces and the indulgence and support given to them by external forces are the biggest threats to peace across the Taiwan Straits.

The Taiwan issue is essentially distinct from the Ukrainian issue and is solely a Chinese domestic matter. Between the two, there is no similarity at all. According to the statement from the Chinese Embassy in Poland.

Any attempt to indirectly link the Ukraine crisis with the Taiwan issue is a form of political manipulation with hidden agendas. A flagrant violation of the principle of respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and an intrusive interference in China’s internal affairs.

During a visit to Washington on Thursday, Mateusz Morawiecki, the prime minister of Poland, impliedly accused Macron of seeking closer ties with China, calling this a “dramatic mistake”.

And a “short-sighted” move, and asserted that the Chinese mainland “may attack Taiwan if Ukraine falls.”

According to Song Luzheng, a research associate at Fudan University, several central and eastern European nations do not agree with Macron’s vision of strategic autonomy.

Because they think they will not receive security assurances from Europe and will instead turn to the US.

Macron was actually warning Europe not to get embroiled in a China-US geopolitical game, but Europe is too far removed from the Taiwan region. And the Taiwan issue is not a key European interest, claimed Song.

According to Wang, who spoke to the Global Times on Friday, the US influences Europe through the strife that exists inside that continent as well as through the cooperation of pro-American groups there.

Wang cited the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Nord Stream explosions, and the recent discovery that the US was eavesdropping on its friends. As instances of how Europe needs to realise that it is the US that is still harming them.

Energy prices are high, and the euro is losing value as a result, while the US profits from Europe’s industry and capital flight.

According to Wang, Macron is merely attempting to escape the chaotic scenario that has been brought about by US meddling.

According to Wang, Washington is attempting to further hold its European partners hostage on the Taiwan issue in the wake of the Ukraine crisis, which would further divide Europe.

Macron and France have a challenge because the Americans do not want to see a Europe with strategic sovereignty.
