Nighttime Recovery of 8 Trapped in Dangling Cable Car Thrills Pakistan
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In a heart-pounding and high-stakes operation that captured the nation’s attention, a group of eight individuals, including six children aged between 10 and 16, have been successfully rescued from a cable car that dangled perilously hundreds of meters above a ravine in Pakistan’s north-west. The operation, conducted under challenging circumstances, involved a military helicopter, courageous ground teams, and a crowd of onlookers anxiously awaiting the safe return of the stranded passengers.

A Daring Helicopter Rescue and Ground Efforts

In a slow and dangerous maneuver executed with unwavering determination, a daring military helicopter rescue mission saved one child from the suspended cable car. Meanwhile, on the ground, rescue teams battled darkness and adversity to safely retrieve the rest of the trapped group. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the unwavering efforts of these rescuers brought the ordeal closer to an end.

Thrilling Zip Line Escape Amidst Celebration

Guided by resilience and expertise, the trapped individuals were guided to safety along a makeshift zip line, suspended high above the ground. A multitude of relieved and jubilant onlookers, perched on the hillside, erupted in cheers as the passengers inched their way to safety. This collective display of joy and relief marked the triumphant culmination of a grueling rescue operation.

Cable Car Catastrophe on the Way to School

The harrowing incident unfolded as the cable car, affectionately known as “Dolly,” was transporting a group of students and adults on their way to school. Tragedy struck when one of the car’s cables snapped, leaving the vehicle precariously suspended 274 meters above the ground, buffeted by powerful winds. The passengers faced an ordeal that tested their endurance and the limits of the rescuers’ capabilities.

Throughout the operation, Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, expressed his relief and extended gratitude to all those involved in the rescue. Pakistan’s army hailed the mission as “extremely difficult and dangerous,” underscoring the challenges the rescuers overcame to save lives. The successful rescue operation demonstrated the remarkable capacity of individuals to overcome adversity, unite in moments of crisis, and navigate challenges with unwavering determination. The dramatic rescue of the stranded cable car passengers will undoubtedly be etched in the collective memory of Pakistan as a testament to human resilience and collaboration.
