Every year on February 5, Pakistan marked Kashmir Solidarity Day to show their support and solidarity with the residents of India’s illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). People from various communities engage in the festivities and rallies held across the nation on this day, which is a national holiday.
When Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif urged the country to commemorate the day in honour of the freedom fighter movement’s succession. Kashmir Solidarity Day was first observed in 1990. Later, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) declared a public holiday for Kashmir on February 5th. Since the conflict’s inception, Pakistan has remained Kashmir’s largest advocate for freedom.
Pakistan have repeatedly urged the world community to get involved in the Kashmir dispute and protect innocent people from the fascist government of India. The nation marked a national holiday in honour of the many freedom warriors who lost their lives while defending their right to self-determination.
Kashmir has been a source of hostilities between India and Pakistan since since the Indian subcontinent was divided. After the subcontinent split apart and British rule ended, a ceasefire boundary was established after India and Pakistan declared war on each other. They claimed separate control over different portions of the valley. In two of the three conflicts, India and Pakistan have cooperated in fighting for control of Kashmir. At the time of the Partition, Indian soldiers forcibly captured the Kashmir valley, which has a majority-Muslim population.
As a result of the inability of the average person to enjoy their basic human rights in Kashmir, which is the most militarised place on earth where abuses of human rights have occurred. Indian soldiers became more active in the area, particularly when the special status of Kashmir was removed. They include enforcing nighttime curfews, kidnapping and killing children brutally, harassing residents, and putting the area under lockdown. Those from Kashmir who advocate for their right to self-determination are all shot to death.
Pakistan had made enormous efforts to bring up the Kashmir issue at various international forums by outing the fascist regime of India. Helped granting the Kashmiris the right to self-determination and the right to live in peace. Imran Khan, a former prime minister of Pakistan, had called for the UN to enforce the Kashmir resolution in order to counter Indian actions in IIOJ&K. Still it is unsolved dispute wanting for change.
