78% of Jewish Voters Back Kamala Harris in 2024 U.S. elections

The 2024 U.S. presidential election exit polls reveal intriguing trends in voter preferences among different demographic groups, with significant results among Jewish, Muslim, Black, and Latino voters. In a surprising turn of events, Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate and incumbent vice president, faced a sweeping defeat to Republican candidate Donald Trump, who clinched his victory after securing more than the required 270 Electoral Votes.

Jewish Voter Support for Harris and Trump

The Jewish community’s voting patterns largely remained consistent with previous elections. According to exit polls conducted by CNN and NBC, 78% of Jewish voters supported Harris, while 22% backed Trump. A separate poll by Fox News showed 66% of Jewish voters favoring Harris and 32% choosing Trump. This suggests that traditional voting preferences within the Jewish community continued to lean heavily toward the Democratic candidate.

Trump, known for his controversial comments, criticized Jewish voters who did not support him, claiming that their decision could result in his loss. However, this did not significantly alter the voting preferences within the Jewish community, where Harris maintained a strong advantage.

Voter Trends Among Religious Groups

The exit polls also shed light on the voting tendencies of other religious groups. Among Christian voters, 63% backed Trump, while 36% voted for Harris. This indicates a clear preference for the Republican candidate among Christian voters, similar to previous elections.

Meanwhile, Muslim voters showed strong support for Harris, with 63% voting for her compared to 32% for Trump. This trend mirrors the 2020 election, where Joe Biden received 64% of the Muslim vote. Despite a slight decrease in support for Democrats compared to previous years, Muslims remained largely in favor of the Democratic Party.

Black Voters Remain Loyal to Harris

In a critical demographic for both candidates, Black voters overwhelmingly supported Kamala Harris, with 83% backing her, according to Fox News exit polls. Trump garnered only 16% of the Black vote, a clear indication of continued loyalty to the Democratic Party among this group. However, the Democratic Party’s advantage among Black voters has shown signs of erosion in recent elections.

Latino Voters: Shifting Preferences

Latino voters, traditionally a key demographic for Democrats, showed more divided preferences in 2024. According to CNN and NBC, 52% of Latino voters cast their ballots for Harris, while 46% supported Trump. While Democrats have historically held an advantage among Latino voters, the gap has been narrowing in recent years. This shift, especially among Latino men, could play a significant role in future elections.

Trump’s Electoral College Victory

Despite the mixed results across demographics, Donald Trump secured the necessary 270 Electoral Votes to win the 2024 presidential race. With more than 5 million votes ahead of Harris in the popular vote, Trump is set to return to the White House as the 47th president of the United States, following his first term from 2017 to 2021.

Trump’s campaign focused heavily on issues such as immigration, promising to send undocumented immigrants back to their home countries. This resonated with his base, particularly among white voters, who showed a preference for Trump over Harris in the 2024 exit polls.

The 2024 U.S. presidential election exit polls reveal complex voting patterns across different demographic groups, with traditional preferences largely holding steady in Jewish, Muslim, and Black communities. However, there are signs of shifting trends, particularly among Latino voters, which could influence future elections. As Trump prepares to take office again in January 2025, his victory marks the culmination of a heated campaign that saw continued polarization among American voters.
